PRODUCTION OF FOOD-GRADE PHOSPHORIC ACID: APPROACHES AND POTENTIAL FOR JPMC

01.Apr.2021

This presentation will provide a background for alternative methods for the production of food-grade phosphoric acid. Three approaches are common: furnace (thermal process), wet-process using HCl, and purification of wet-process acid produced using H2SO4. Some of the definitions pertinent to this field and potential opportunities for Jordan Phosphate Mines Co. are outlined. Finally, some of the possible solvents and their affinity and potency toward phosphoric acid are given from the results of the researcher as well as results from other researchers. Some recommendations will be suggested as closure.
